Density Altitudee
Density altitude shows how the aircraft will perform in the air it actually has. On hot, high fields it can be thousands of feet above the published elevation.
What is density altitude?
Density altitude is the altitude in the standard atmosphere where air density would match the current conditions at the field. High density altitude reduces engine power, propeller efficiency and wing performance.
It matters most at hot and high airports, where the aircraft can perform as if it were operating thousands of feet higher than the field elevation.
